Sightings please for a White Transit van NJ55GTZ. The 3 occupants of this vehicle were disturbed stealing scrap metal near Dunkirk Trading Estate. The vehicle is from Coventry.

Following a recent incident in Tarporley which I know has drawn attention from local people we have made 4 arrests in relation to an allegation of Conspiracy to commit assault and all 4 people have been bailed for further enquiries. I will update you when I have further news.

I’ve been asked to explain the significance of ‘Thatcham approved’, security devices.  Thatcham is a government approved testing facility. As well as vehicle safety, it also tests security devices for cars.  The Thatcham approved logo on a security device means it meets quite exacting, minimum standards.  So, whether it’s a steering lock, alarm, immobiliser or tracking devise look for the ‘Thatcham approved’ sticker.  www.thatcham.org.

We are still seeing increasing levels of theft of lead and copper and also burglaries where pedal cycles are being stolen.  I’ve already engraved the owners post code onto a couple of hundred pedal cycles this year.  If you are thinking of buying a bike for Christmas, watch this space for cycle marking sessions that I’ll be holding early in the new year and as well as the bike, buy a good quality ‘D’ lock or lock and chain.
